The Gardens at Cricket Hill are part of the Garden Conservancy, a nationwide organization of private gardens of merit occasionally open to the public and are enjoyed daily by our clients and friends. Activities of the Gardens benefit Cricket Hill Academy for Horsemanship, Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization established in 2000.
The horse farm and our 1844 house sit amidst rolling fields and distant hills. The gardens employ an innovative design approach which plays with scale and lines of sight to maximize the layered views from the house and barns. Plantings flow naturally with the land and are designed to be viewed from all sides. They incorporate moss and lichen-covered rocks and are planned for no watering, reduced maintenance, four-season interest, and food and cover for the birds. Visitors welcome; call for appointment.
